Senior Sterile Processing Technician – Days – Full Time
Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This full‑time position works 8‑hour day shifts with call rotations for weeknight and weekend coverage.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate technical expertise at the SPD Technician III level.
- Assume responsibility for complex instrumentation (Ortho, Neuro, ENT) maintenance and development in conjunction with the SPD Supervisor, SPD Clinical Manager, Surgery Specialty Techs and/or Surgery Clinical Nurse III.
- Promote and improve the quality of unit daily operations, participate in the development of technical practice standards, assist in training and orienting new staff members, and educate SPT I and SPT II regarding instrumentation within designated specialty.
- Provide ongoing education regarding designated specialty instrumentation for all SPD staff.
- National Certified Registered Central Service Technician – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
- National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician – Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
- National Certified Instrument Specialist – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
- 2 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting.
- 2 years of high‑level disinfection experience (or endoscopy).
- High‑level disinfection training in decontamination, processing, sterilization, quality control, flexible scope reprocessing.
