The Store Manager role at Box Lunch is a full-time, on-site position based in Mission Viejo, CA. The Store Manager oversees daily store operations, including managing staff schedules, leading and coaching team members, and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive environment for customers and employees. This role is responsible for driving sales, monitoring key performance metrics, and promoting initiatives that align with Box Lunch’s philanthropic mission.
Day-to-day tasks include delivering excellent customer service, maintaining merchandising and visual standards, managing inventory, and supporting retail loss prevention practices. The Store Manager also handles administrative duties such as reporting, cash management, and compliance with company policies, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and fun.
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to create positive, engaging experiences for every guest.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication abilities to lead teams, provide feedback, and collaborate with partners and leadership.
- Candidates should possess Store Management experience, including staff supervision, scheduling, and day-to-day retail operations.
- Candidates should possess Retail Loss Prevention awareness to help safeguard company assets and maintain a safe store environment.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior retail leadership experience, knowledge of merchandising and inventory management, basic proficiency with point-of-sale and retail systems, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; experience in specialty or pop culture retail and an interest in Box Lunch’s philanthropic mission are desirable.
