SUMMARY
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, SOX controls documentation, and process mapping for Seaboard Energy. This position will work directly in coordination with the Controller to plan and develop the accounting team, including the management of accounting staff, documentation of internal controls and optimization of processes and procedures for Seaboard Energy.
RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned at management’s discretion.
- Daily supervision, including training and development of accounting professionals
- Prepare and assist in various GL accounting duties, including research, analysis, reconciliation, journal entry, transaction entry, and financial statement preparation
- Primary liaison for internal and external auditor requests, including management of progress status of the audit
- Manage and refine, in coordination with the Controller, all SOX controls documentation
- Assist in the design and documentation of process mapping for Seaboard Energy Accounting policies and other general Seaboard Energy processes as assigned
- Primary liaison for technical accounting research, new guidance implementation and onboarding of new business accounting in accordance with GAAP
- Primary liaison for new system implementation and updating of processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting
- Provide review and assist in the improvement of the account reconciliations and investigate any variances as needed
- Assist Controller with identifying areas of improvement and managing the implementation of improvements through leading accounting staff during the project
- Other special projects as assigned by management

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required
- MBA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience required
- Experience with SOX controls documentation and audit processes preferred
- Experience with reporting financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Experience with Microsoft Visio preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- High attention to detail, organized, and deadline-oriented
- Ability to effectively review staff work in a timely manner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
This position is primarily office-based and requires the ability to perform work while seated for extended periods. The role involves frequent use of a computer, including prolonged viewing of a monitor and continuous typing on a keyboard. Occasional walking within the office and light handling of documents or office supplies (under 15 lbs) may be required. The employee must have adequate visual acuity for reading and data entry and the ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
Employees must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for their work areas.
Work environment is in an office setting. Noise level varies from low to moderate levels.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULEMonday through Friday. The working hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasional changes in schedule may be required as special circumstances arise.
