Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a contract position based in Lenexa, Kansas. This role will play a central part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet integrity. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound knowledge of general ledger accounting, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing, reviewing, and finalizing accounting records within established timelines.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and ensuring supporting documentation is complete.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate analysis, backup, and adherence to accounting standards.
• Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and support accurate financial reporting.
• Complete bank reconciliations regularly to confirm cash activity and investigate outstanding items.
• Review financial data for accuracy and consistency, escalating issues and recommending corrective actions when needed.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information, clarify transactions, and support day-to-day accounting needs.
