Evening​/Weekend Receptionist

Reports to: Academy Director and Academy Manager
Job Category: Part Time; evenings and weekends

• Provide friendly, accommodating, and informed help to students, parents, and visitors
• Assist in the daily administrative operations of Academy classes, summer camps, Summer Intensive, and Academy performances
• Respond to in-person inquiries/concerns at Front Desk
• Monitor door and let people into building
• Respond to telephone inquiries and direct callers to appropriate staff members
• Sort and distribute mail to staff members
• Conduct financial transactions, including tuition payments, registration fees, Summer Intensive fees, performance fees, and other Academy-related payments
• Update daily cash sheet
• Maintain the connector area

• Experience with Microsoft software such as Outlook and Excel
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to remain flexible and supportive at all times

Perform skilled work involving specialized musicianship in support of ballet classes. Classes would include ballet technique and pointe classes for all ages.

• Sight reading and improvisational skills needed
• Thorough knowledge of piano repertoire
• Broad knowledge of musical styles
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty and staff
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Ability to represent Ballet Met in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
• Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays at our downtown Columbus location and our Worthington location.

Ballet Met is seeking to increase its Education Department Faculty for a position teaching dance to elementary- high school students during the school year. Eligible candidates should have experience teaching in public schools and/or private studios working with a variety of age groups. Teachers need to be organized, responsible, and energetic. Experience with developing curriculum, lesson plans and assessment protocol is a plus.

Applicants should possess a desire to share the art of dance with the community. A degree in dance or a related field and /or performance experience is required. Specialization in a variety of dance styles is encouraged. Work hours are primarily during school hours. This is a part‑time, non‑salaried position. Teachers are considered contract labor. Reliable transportation and a background check are required.
