AISC teachers are responsible for ensuring that all instructional and assessment practices, curriculum development, classroom management, and professional growth align with and contribute to the School’s Mission, Core Values, and Vision for the AISC Learner. Duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in planning, preparing, and co-teaching design and maker lessons that foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Supporting students during hands-on projects by guiding inquiry, encouraging reflection, and ensuring safe and effective use of materials and tools.
  • Helping organize and maintain the Design Lab, including setup of materials, displays, and digital documentation of student learning.
  • Collaborating with the Design Lab teacher and classroom teachers to connect projects to grade-level units.
  • Participating in professional learning, seeking feedback, and reflecting on instructional practices to grow as an educator.
Knowledge

Successful AISC teachers are learners. They can demonstrate specific knowledge and understanding and share examples of their growth in the following areas:

  • Standards-based assessment and reporting
  • Course-/program-specific knowledge

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in data analysis, including sourcing, cleaning, transforming and creating reports and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages, such as SQL, Python, R, Google Sheets, or advanced Excel functions.
  • Expertise in reporting and visualization tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau or equivalent
  • Basic working knowledge on data warehousing, data engineering and related tools such as Big Query
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with the ability to handle complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical insights to non‑technical audiences.
  • Commitment to data integrity, confidentiality, and ethical practices.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

AISC seeks a Design Lab Associate Teacher with appropriate experiences that have helped them develop their knowledge, skills, and talents:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in education (preferred)
  • Interest in teaching, design thinking, and hands‑on learning
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
  • Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new tools
