SUMMARYGlobal Preparatory Academies, are a network of dual language schools near downtown Indianapolis. We are launching our new middle academy in the Fall of 2026. Our network of schools connects students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and educates them together in a highly rigorous, engaging and nurturing environment. Using both English and Spanish to instruct students in all core content areas, students will develop high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, as well as a deep value and understanding of other cultures.
As citizens in a global world, students at Global Prep gain limitless access to other cultures through bilingualism and instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking using global perspectives and experiential learning.
The 8th Grade Math/Algebra Teacher delivers rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction that prepares students for high school mathematics through conceptual understanding and problem‑solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInstruction & Planning
- Ensure your students achieve learning outcomes outlined by the network that are above average in the subject of mathematics by instructing students in a clear, concise and fun way, and regularly preparing lesson plans that are engaging and incorporate the curriculum.
- Teach Algebra and 8th grade math standards.
- Design engaging, data‑driven lessons.
- Prepare students for assessments and high school readiness.
- Ability to work with a diverse urban student population.
- Effective lesson planning to meet the needs of students.
- Knowledge of effective classroom management techniques.
- Review curriculum needs and execute plans for improvement, and provide additional support.
- Attend school events to better understand student interest and personalities outside of the regular classroom, build strong relationships with your students and aid in the strengthening of their self‑confidence while inspiring them to achieve high goals.
- Meet with the Math instructional coach weekly to discuss action steps, delivery of instruction, student data, lesson planning, and any other best‑practice strategies relevant to teaching.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Analyze student data to guide instruction.
- Provide targeted supports and extensions.
- Understands how to use data to drive instruction.
- Incorporate the school’s objectives into your curriculum by remaining up to date with mission and initiatives.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams.
- Regularly communicate with parents and legal guardians regarding child’s performance, track and record student progress and keep records up to date for progress reports and Parent Teacher conferences.
- Act as a role model by making your students feel motivated while maintaining an approachable personality.
- Provide students with feedback on assignments.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Participate in professional learning and school events.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Classroom‑based with standing, movement, and instructional technology use.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong math content knowledge.
- Data‑driven instruction.
- Classroom management.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid Indiana Professional Teaching license (or ability to obtain one).
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
