The School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering is seeking part-time faculty candidates for the position of Lecturer-Mathematics. The position teaches mathematics courses which may include developmental mathematics, college algebra, college geometry, introduction to probability and statistics, precalculus, or calculus. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of part-time faculty members at the University include teaching with service and professional activities as assigned.

Essential FunctionsBasic Instructional Duties:
- Prepare course outlines and teach assigned courses based on approved departmental syllabi; prepare and deliver consistent, interactive lectures.
- Prepare and administer timely and meaningful assessments for assigned courses.
- Incorporate technology into teaching, utilizing online homework system and learning management system.
- Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met; participate in meetings upon request.
- Be available outside of class to help students learn and to answer their questions (1 hour per 3-hour class, physically and/or electronically).
- Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and processes including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.
- Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening and weekend sections as needed;
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Master’s Degree in Mathematics or Master’s Degree in a closely related discipline with 18 graduate hours in mathematics or statistics.
Required Work Experience
Experience teaching mathematics courses at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant professional experience in specific course outcomes;
- Demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Experience in facilitating online communication via email, learning management systems, and online homework platforms.
