Web & Automation Developer; WordPress​/WooCommerce + n8n

Cycle Africa Bikes is looking for a Web & Automation Developer (Word Press/Woo Commerce + n8n) to build and maintain our storefronts, keep them fast and secure, and connect them seamlessly to the rest of our stack.

In this role you’ll manage sites through a structured staging → test → live workflow, monitor performance and site health, and ensure Woo Commerce operations (HPOS enabled) run smoothly. You’ll also design and maintain n8n workflows that keep data flowing between platforms—built with secure environment variables, retries, and alerts—so operations run on autopilot.

• Word Press/Woo Commerce expertise: Skilled in managing updates and verifying checkout flows, emails, and webhooks in a safe deployment workflow.
• Performance focus: Familiar with Core Web Vitals and practical optimization tactics (image strategy, caching/CDN, script handling).
• Security best practices: Applies hardening basics—least-privilege users, HTTPS, timely updates/backups, and secure salts/keys.
• Catalog & feeds management: Keeps product feeds (e.g., Google Merchant Center) accurate via Woo Commerce connectors.
• n8n workflow design: Builds and maintains automation flows with error handling, retries, and monitoring.
• Secrets & environments: Manages environment variables and credentials securely, with documentation.
• APIs & webhooks: Comfortable integrating platforms using REST/webhooks, with attention to idempotency and logging.
• Documentation & QA: Writes clear runbooks, checklists, release notes, and incident reports.

Nice to have:
Experience with Site Health reviews, Core Web Vitals in Search Console, and multi-channel product feeds.

• Build and maintain Word Press sites using approved themes/plugins with a staging → test → live workflow.
• Verify checkout, emails, and webhooks after every update.
• Enable and monitor High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS), addressing plugin compatibility issues.
• Keep product feeds clean and mapped correctly for shopping channels.
• Improve Core Web Vitals through optimized images, caching/CDN, and efficient script loading.
• Apply Word Press security hardening and monitoring practices.

• Design, build, and maintain n8n workflows for order operations, catalog syncs, notifications, and back-office automations.
• Configure retries, error handling, and proper alerting.
• Manage credentials and environment variables securely and document environment configs.
• Connect platforms via REST APIs/webhooks with reliable logging and idempotency in mind.
