We are a registered provider with the NDIS, DFFH (Department of Families, Fairness and Housing), TAC (Transport Accident Commission), and Child, Youth & Family (CYF) services in the South East of Melbourne.

At Sunrise2

Sunrise, we live our motto: “Care when you need it, how you want it.”

We deliver the service excellence often associated with large corporate providers, while remaining deeply grounded in our community, culture, and commitment to every individual we support.

We call our team Life Changers – because that’s the impact we strive to make every day.

Our Mission

To provide the highest quality supports and services that empower people living with disability to lead fulfilling, valued, and meaningful lives.

About the Role – Area Manager

As an Area Manager, you will play a critical leadership role overseeing supported accommodation homes across your assigned region. You will ensure person-centred services are delivered to the highest standards while driving operational performance, compliance, and team development.

Reporting directly to the Head of Accommodations, you will be accountable for service delivery, workforce capability, policy implementation, and continuous improvement. This role is vital in achieving strong participant outcomes, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee service quality, compliance, and participant satisfaction
  • Monitor budgets, occupancy trends, and funding utilisation
  • Support recruitment, training, supervision, and performance of staff
  • Maintain a regular presence across all homes within your area
  • Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and review of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Authorised Program Officer (APO) requirements, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory standards
  • Participate in the after-hours/on-call management roster as required

About You

We are seeking a values-aligned leader with proven experience in human services and disability support. You bring compassion, confidence, and capability to lead teams and elevate participant care.

You will have:

  • A degree in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in disability, aged care, or community services
  • Strong knowledge of NDIS reforms and DFFH, TAC, and CYF frameworks and funding models
  • Sound financial acumen, including budgeting, reporting, grants, and service agreements
  • Demonstrated experience managing dispersed teams and complex operations
  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Experience supporting people with neurocognitive disabilities, mental health needs, and complex medical conditions
  • Previous experience managing accommodation settings such as SIL or supported housing
  • Commitment to person-centred, rights-based, and inclusive practice
  • High ethical standards, modelling integrity in all decisions
  • A valid Driver’s Licence and access to a private vehicle

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a growing, respected, and mission-driven provider
  • Work alongside passionate and experienced professionals
  • Lead real change and support meaningful participant outcomes
  • Belong to a culture that recognises and values its team members as Life Changers
  • Access opportunities for professional development and career growth
