About the Role – Area Manager
As an Area Manager, you will play a critical leadership role overseeing supported accommodation homes across your assigned region. You will ensure person-centred services are delivered to the highest standards while driving operational performance, compliance, and team development.
Reporting directly to the Head of Accommodations, you will be accountable for service delivery, workforce capability, policy implementation, and continuous improvement. This role is vital in achieving strong participant outcomes, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to House Managers and support teams
- Oversee service quality, compliance, and participant satisfaction
- Monitor budgets, occupancy trends, and funding utilisation
- Support recruitment, training, supervision, and performance of staff
- Maintain a regular presence across all homes within your area
- Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and review of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Authorised Program Officer (APO) requirements, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory standards
- Participate in the after-hours/on-call management roster as required
About You
We are seeking a values-aligned leader with proven experience in human services and disability support. You bring compassion, confidence, and capability to lead teams and elevate participant care.
You will have:
- A degree in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in disability, aged care, or community services
- Strong knowledge of NDIS reforms and DFFH, TAC, and CYF frameworks and funding models
- Sound financial acumen, including budgeting, reporting, grants, and service agreements
- Demonstrated experience managing dispersed teams and complex operations
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organisational skills
- Experience supporting people with neurocognitive disabilities, mental health needs, and complex medical conditions
- Previous experience managing accommodation settings such as SIL or supported housing
- Commitment to person-centred, rights-based, and inclusive practice
- High ethical standards, modelling integrity in all decisions
- A valid Driver’s Licence and access to a private vehicle
