The range listed reflects the entire range and typical placement is entry to mid range.
Pay Range - $17/hr - $20/hr Position Purpose Responsible for the care and maintenance of all horticultural and structural components of the golf course under the direct supervision of the golf course superintendent. Scouts, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs facility components to assure optimum playing conditions for golf course customers. Frequently operates a personal or City-owned motor vehicle to drive to and from work locations throughout the City.
Essential Job Functions
* Performs turf maintenance for all areas of the golf course, including, mowing, irrigation, fertilization, bunker maintenance, and other various manual labor tasks.
* Observes and reports any unusual turf conditions to the supervisor.
* Assists operate mowing equipment for fairways, rough, tees, and greens as needed.
* Assists irrigation system repairs, including, placement of sprinkler heads and repairing broken lines as needed.

* Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Work schedule will vary during the season and early mornings are expected.
* Ability to effectively communicate information, both verbally and in writing, to support organizational objectives and interact with all levels of personnel within the city in a positive and cooperative manner.
* Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Knowledge Skills Abilities Preferred License & Certification
* A valid Colorado driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

* Two (2) years of progressively responsible golf maintenance experience .Other Qualifications
* Must be over 18 years of age.
Physical Demands
* Strenuous to extreme physical effort that includes frequent use of heavy objects (e.g., 50+ pounds) and may also use heavy tools or require strenuous application in awkward positions. Individuals in strenuous positions must successfully complete a physical examination to ensure their fitness for duty.
Hazards
* Occasional hazards that are predictable or well protected against (Hazardous waste, ladders, cleaning supplies, trips and falls).Work Environment
* Regular exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
