ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential job functions may also include controlling range test areas and/or repairs to towers, involving replacement of cross-members, bolts, and other tower hardware. The position may require the ability to climb towers up to 300 feet in height. Duties will include taking directions from and assist senior level technicians or site supervisor with performing range inspections on various Training/Testing ranges located in numerous geographical locations on the Eglin range complex including Santa Rosa Island.
Work is performed under minimal or no supervision and varies in the combination of trade practices that are performed in different work situations throughout the E-OMS contract. Despite the variety of combinations, two main elements of the job are constant. The work requires the application of skilled trade practices. The General Maintenance Worker Master performs a variety of tasks involved in the construction and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.
Typical work assignments include the performance of visual examinations and operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of, repair work. Job functions may also involve working in extreme weather conditions or at heights for extended periods. May be required to work in direct contact with test personnel.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- The General Maintenance Worker Master performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
- Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- This position is in support of AFSOC and requires shift work.
- Position will report to TRIMaC Supervisor and is involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, fixtures/targets and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, painting, small engine repair, hydraulics, tower maintenance and other related duties.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents must have either:
Formal training, acquired through vocational certification or military service school training or a certified apprenticeship program, in at least one of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, concrete strength testing, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, small engine repair or painting, and 3 years of combined experience in at least two of the trades mentioned above, or 5 years verifiable experience in at least two of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, or painting.
OTHER DUTIES: May be required to handle hazardous materials and/or collect hazardous waste. May require housekeeping duties in assigned work areas. Other duties may be assigned such as vehicle maintenance, environmental, safety, and security. Required to use and wear appropriate safety equipment. Overtime and weekend support may be required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Observes training courses to remain certified. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies;
supports Process Improvement.
