Project Support Assistant - CHSPThe Project Support Assistant - CHSP (Desirable language - Filipino) is part of the Syd West’s Aged Care Team which is part of Syd West’s Aged Care Services Division. This position is responsible for providing individual assistance to Syd West’s Aged Care Consumers as outlined in their individual care plans. The Project Support Assistant role is a crucial frontline role which ensures all consumers needs are met and all services are delivered to a Gold Standard.
Job Description Key Accountabilities- Provide Gold Standard, Respectful and Culturally Sensitive customer service to Syd West’s CHSP group-based consumers through:
- Assisting in the facilitation of group activities
- Serving meals and refreshments
- Assisting with feeding and medication prompting where required
Mobility Assistance and toileting, where required - Provide Syd West’s Aged Care Consumers services consistent with Aged Care Quality Standards and Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission Policies & Procedures
- Adhere to Syd West’s Policies & Procedures related to the work being undertaken in order to ensure own & others safety in the workplace
- Ensuring own and others safety in working within a community related role
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support / Ageing or experience in running group-based activities
- Minimum P2 Driver's license and access to a fully registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle;
- Personal Smart Phone & Internet Access
- Basic computer knowledge
- Availability & flexibility to work a variety of shifts from Monday to Friday
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with a broad audience
- Knowledge and Ability in supporting consumers from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Background
- Awareness of the Aged Care Quality Standards and Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission
- Current Australian National Police check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- High level administration skills
- Understanding of aged or community services and/or relevant experience.
- High levels of initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity in the performance of work.
- Computing skills, including basic operating systems; managing databases and out of transport and assist with ordering food.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision with great initiative.
- Alignment with Syd West MS mission, vision and values and ability to lead others in the practice of these.
- Understanding of how this role relates to the outcomes of the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer focused skills with the ability to engage and build trust and rapport with a diverse range of people.
- Understanding of the issues faced by elderly people from a CALO background in accessing services.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
- Proven record of working effectively with CALD communities and understanding of their barriers in accessing services.
- NSW drivers' licence & National Police Check
