Responsibilities
  • Lead preconstruction activities for data centre and mission-critical projects from concept through contract award.
  • Prepare estimates, budgets, cost plans and pricing proposals for complex data infrastructure projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications and scopes, with a focus on critical power, mechanical, electrical and building systems.
  • Develop subcontractor scopes, bid packages and procurement plans.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier bidding, proposal reviews and bid leveling.
  • Coordinate constructability reviews, value engineering and design development.
  • Support project scheduling, procurement planning and long-lead equipment reviews.
  • Coordinate with clients, designers, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
  • Identify scope gaps, cost risks, procurement challenges and schedule impacts.
  • Maintain accurate estimates, budgets and preconstruction documentation.
  • Support the transition from preconstruction to project delivery.
  • Manage preconstruction teams, multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in construction, preconstruction, estimating or cost planning.
  • 3+ years of experience managing preconstruction activities, teams or complex project work streams.
  • Experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, data infrastructure or similarly technical construction projects.
  • Understanding of critical power, electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls and other major data centre systems.
  • Experience preparing estimates, budgets, bid packages and subcontractor scopes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contract documents and technical requirements.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, trade scopes, procurement and project sequencing.
  • Experience managing subcontractor and supplier bidding, proposal evaluation and negotiations.
  • Strong communication, organisation, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to identify project risks, scope gaps, cost impacts and long-lead procurement requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn relevant estimating, takeoff, bidding and project-management software.
  • Degree, technical qualification or equivalent practical construction experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
