• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
• 1 year of Pediatric Dental Assisting
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Pediatric Dental Assisting
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are a huge plus
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
• Active driver’s license and use of personal vehicle for travel to different work sites may be required

• Focus on patient safety and team safety as priority one
• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols; dispose of sharps and clinical waste promptly and safely
• Maintain digital patient artifacts including health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educate patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitor patient’s physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Prepare tray setups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensure exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Chart existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Review patient chart and health history prior to doctor arrival and reconfirm the patient’s chief concern
• Take diagnostic quality X-Rays and attach them to the patient chart
• Assist the Rodeo Team in cleaning surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms and restrooms
• Performs all other duties as assigned
