Position: Coordinator, SE Behavior Coordinator (BCBA) 26-27 SY

Position Summary

Provide support and training for teachers, staff, and parents to address and manage students with challenging behaviors.

Education/Certification
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject assigned
  • Master's degree from an accredited university in Special Education, Educational Leadership, Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field preferred
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification preferred
Experience
  • Three years of experience as a classroom teacher with additional experience in instructional leadership or special education support roles
  • Experience supporting students with behavioral needs and implementing behavior intervention supports preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, Texas Education Code, and TEA special education regulations
  • Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, crisis prevention, de-escalation techniques, restorative practices, and positive behavior supports
  • Knowledge of social-emotional and behavioral intervention systems for students with disabilities
  • Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate staff development
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Ability to provide parent training and staff coaching related to behavior supports and student interventions
  • Ability to implement and interpret policy, procedures, and data
  • Ability to analyze student performance and behavioral data to guide decision-making
  • Strong organizational, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties Curriculum & Instruction
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend curriculum, instructional methods, materials, assessments, interventions, behavioral supports, and resources to ensure they meet educational needs and district standards.
  • Collaborate with other district departments and programs to ensure cross-curricular alignment and support for diverse learners.
  • Oversee the implementation of new or revised curriculum, instructional practices, intervention systems, and behavioral support structures.
  • Facilitate and participate in departmental and campus-level instructional planning meetings.
  • Support instructional programs and services related to special education, social-emotional learning, and behavioral supports.
  • Coordinate and support summer school instruction and intervention programs as assigned.
  • Manage the adoption, inventory, distribution, and training related to textbooks and instructional resources to support effective teaching and learning.
Organizational Training & Development
  • Observe instruction and provide non-evaluative, actionable feedback to teachers and campus administrators for improvement.
  • Design and conduct professional development for teachers and staff focusing on instructional strategies, classroom management, positive behavior supports, de-escalation techniques, crisis prevention, implementation of accommodations/interventions, and inclusive practices.
  • Develop and present unit-specific previews to ensure teachers are prepared to deliver content aligned to the scope and sequence and curriculum frameworks.
  • Co-teach and model contemporary and researched best instructional and behavioral practices for teachers and teacher groups.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and technical assistance related to behavior intervention systems, classroom management, and support for students with significant behavioral needs.
  • Facilitate parent trainings and support sessions related to behavior strategies, social-emotional supports, and implementation of student interventions across school and home settings.
  • Support campus teams in implementing evidence-based practices to improve student engagement, behavior, attendance, and academic outcomes.
Accountability & Compliance
  • Obtain and use student performance and behavioral data to improve program effectiveness and student outcomes.
