Part-Time Bus Monitor

Position Overview

The Part-Time Bus Monitor is a vital member of the Operations Team, which is responsible for designing and implementing efficient day-to-day systems and routines that contribute to a joyful school culture and the highest-levels of learning, instruction and organizational stewardship. The primary responsibility of the Part-Time Bus Monitor is to ensure the safety of all students riding the bus with a particular focus on our youngest riders (Pre‑K3 students).

This is a part-time position with opportunity for growth with the school and additional hours as needed. Tasks of the Part-Time Bus Monitor include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring students are acting safely and appropriately (sitting down, respectful, etc.)
• Taking daily bus attendance
• Supporting the bus driver as directed
• Building meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents
• Communicating behavior challenges to manager/school leader
• Supporting arrival and dismissal processes
• Performing other related tasks as assigned

• Belief in the Brillante Academy mission, model and values
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience working in a school and/or with elementary aged students strongly preferred
• Team player with strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and relationship building skills
• Able to work bus schedule (approximately Monday – Friday 6:00–8:00 AM and 3:15–5:30 PM)
