Site Safety Technician

Our safety team is seeking a detail-oriented Site Safety Technician to support Cava Electric’s Safety Management Program in the field. This position demands a working understanding of OSHA regulatory requirements related to electric power and construction, and responsibility for ensuring company and client safety policies, plans, and work practices are implemented on site.

Duties

• Support the Site Safety Manager and assist with oversight of employees and enforcement of safety policies and procedures
• Maintain regular on-site presence to conduct and document meetings, safety observations, inspections, and audits, providing on-the-spot coaching to crews
• Participate in pre-project planning and safety reviews to identify hazards, risks, and controls, and develop site safety plans and training
• Respond to calls related to safety incidents including first aid guidance, participating in an on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends
• Conduct and document incident investigations, identify causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Monitor safety performance metrics and trends and recommend proactive and corrective actions
• Work with management, project managers, and field employees to build understanding of the Safety Management Program
• Provide first aid treatment for non-serious injury or illness, and if trained, render emergency medical treatment and arrange transportation

Skills

• Experience conveying safety instructions and employee training while promoting a safety culture
• Ability to quickly identify safety issues and implement practical solutions
• Strong attention to detail in monitoring workplace activities to detect hazards
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years working experience in a safety role focused on electrical construction environments
• OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR, and AED training
• Willing to travel to job sites
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check
