We are seeking a
Certified Pharmacy Technician,sometimes referred to as a Registered Certificated Pharmacy Technician , Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) or Board-Certified Pharmacy Technician.
The Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhTs) support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, including sterile IVs, chemotherapy, and unit-dose drugs for patients. They manage medication inventory across patient care areas, maintain automated dispensing systems, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Certified Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in patient safety by verifying orders, preventing errors, and ensuring timely delivery of critical medications.
This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRNas needed.
* Sterile Compounding Certification is required.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Prepare and dispense medications including unit-dose, IV admixtures, chemotherapy, andoperateautomated dispensing cabinets
- Manage inventory across nursing units, crash carts, and automated systems while handling controlled substances and monitoring expirations
- Enter and verify medication orders in hospital EMR systems to ensure accuracy of dosage, form, route, and frequency
- Support patient safety by checking labels,assisting with medication reconciliation, delivering medications, and preparing drugs for specialized populations
- Comply withUSP standards,maintain regulatory documentation, and take on specialized roles such as IV compounding, clinical support, or lead technician duties
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:1. Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
2. State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations) 3. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA) required or obtained within 6 months of hire
4. High school diploma or equivalent
5. Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred 6. 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility) 7. Sterile Compounding Certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire
