Is God calling you to join The Cause, to discover your Kingdom purpose while being equipped and empowered with missionary skills in Martin County Kentucky and Southern Ohio? This mission intern will join and serve with Nazarene Global Missions, the USA/Canada Region, the Missions Mobilization team, Eastern Kentucky District, and Appalachia Reach Out (ARO) - a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry center dedicated to serving under-privileged families.
There are many ministries to be part of with ARO including leading Missions Teams, repair of homes, food distribution, a thrift store and community outreach.
Responsibilities:
- Be guided in cultural bridge-building.
- Lead short term missions teams in conjunction with ARO leadership.
- Listen and learn alongside others on navigating cultural differences to build meaningful relationships.
- Community engagement in two of the neediest counties of the USA.
- Participate in cultural orientation activities and community events to develop cross-cultural competency.
- Support the ongoing work of the compassionate ministry center which may include working in the Thrift Store and/or food pantry.
- Participate in team meetings weekly.
- Participate in exploring how God's work and human dignity are revealed through cross-cultural service.
Requirements:
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability, with demonstrated interest in cross-cultural work.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values, along with flexibility in role assignments.
- A growing and active relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Passion for cross-cultural missions, discipleship, and community engagement.
- Awillingness tolearn.
- A willingness to lean into personal growth in the core elements of cross-cultural ministry under the mentorship and coaching of experienced leaders.
