Medical Surgical CNA

Overview

We are seeking a Medical Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who will provide patient care support including daily activities, mobility assistance, feeding, vital sign monitoring, and wound care assistance. The CNA will also maintain supplies and assist nurses to ensure a clean, safe environment.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown; feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration); observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses; assist with wound care under the direction of an RN.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms; ensure the environment stays clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate upon hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate (AHA) upon hire and maintained.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintained per facility requirement.
