The Store Manager is accountable for driving business results through effective selection, training and coaching of the store team in the key areas of sales, customer service, merchandise presentation, operations, human resources and loss prevention. Work with upper management in executing and enforcing company policies and procedures.

- Open and close store based on company guidelines; maintain visual presentation and merchandise changes.
- Manage loss prevention practices to safeguard company funds and inventory.
- Maintain store appearance, product replenishment, housekeeping, and opening/closing procedures.
- Communicate with District Manager regarding operational activities.
- Ensure effective execution of all sale promotions and communicate sales goals to staff.
- Demonstrate customer service techniques, train staff, and ensure timely customer processing.
- Execute promotional set‑up of store, floor moves, and visual merchandising initiatives, using appropriate display fixtures and ladder.
- Train new staff per company standards, conduct hiring practices, address substandard performance with corrective action, and set clear expectations.
- Motivate staff through positive interactions.
- Ensure proper cash control, banking procedures, and payroll within company policy.
- Educate staff on potential causes of shrink; maintain alarm system and perform regular tests.
- Maintain store cleanliness, equipment, safety, security, facility maintenance, and postings/notifications.

Education:
High School Graduate or GED (preferred).
Language:
Ability to speak, read and write English.
Based on Store Volume:
- < 1.5M – Minimum 18 months as a Sr. Service Manager or 1 year as an Assistant Store Manager with Melrose or similar retail, or 1 year as Store Manager in similar environment. Manage 4+ staff.
- ≥ 1.5M – Minimum 1 year as a Store Manager in lower volume store at Melrose or similar retail, or 18 months as Assistant Store Manager at Melrose, managing 6+ staff.
Operation of POS cash register, calculator, scanner and related equipment.
Other RequirementsHigh school level math;
English proficiency; work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed; maintain professional appearance; reliable transportation; provide phone number for emergencies; occasional travel for training; minimum age 18.
Lift/Carry: 10–20 lbs frequently; 21–50 lbs occasionally.
Stand, walk, handle/finger, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, squat or kneel: constant, frequent, occasional as outlined above.
Work EnvironmentIndoor environment with air conditioning and heat.
