Rabalais I&E Constructors is currently seeking Commercial Journeyman Electricians for the Port Isabel area. Commercial experience is preferred, and a state Journeyman license is required.

• Assist electrician to install and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
• Measure, cut, and bend wires and conduit using ruler and hand tools.
• Drill holes for wiring using power drill and pull or push wiring through opening.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
• Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches using hand tools.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order.
• Disassemble defective electrical equipment such as motors using hand tools.
• Load, transport, unload, and furnish electrician with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• May erect scaffolding.
• May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation.
• Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft person.

Must have own transportation to and from job sites or staging areas; read, write, and understand English; be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age; not use illegal drugs or excessive alcohol and consent to drug and alcohol testing when required; comply with safety standards; have own hand tools; exhibit personal judgment and standard measurement; perform a variety of duties with precision;

use reason and logic; perform arithmetical operations rapidly and accurately; see details in objects or drawings; recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings; and picture flat objects as three‑dimensional objects. Physically, must work skillfully with hands; climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and vessels; see well; reach for, handle, and grasp wires, conduit, and hand tools; bend, crouch, and work in small places;

and lift and carry objects related to performing the job. A valid Texas driver’s license is preferred but a state or government issued identification card is acceptable. A valid Texas Electrical Apprentice license is required. OSHA 10 a plus but not required.
