  • Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for the work to be performed
  • CPR & First Aid certified preferred
  • Monitor the safety of handicapped children
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of handicapped students
  • Follow mandated child restrain procedures to ensure children are properly positioned and restrained (Booster seats, seat belts, and wheelchairs)
  • Assist the bus driver in any emergency situations, including evacuation if necessary
  • Administer first aid or CPR to students as needed
  • Assist students as needed to the school building and homes and ensure they are received by authorized individuals only
  • Assist in completing incident or accident reports when necessary or appropriate
  • Assure the bus driver is not distracted from safe operation of the vehicle
  • Report any traffic violation incurred by the driver to the immediate supervisor
  • Assist in maintaining the interior of the bus in a clean and safe operating condition
  • Assure no child is left behind or left unsupervised on the bus
  • Attend all staff meetings, team meetings, and trainings as requested
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others
  • Perform other duties as assigned

HOURLY RANGE: $13.25 - $18.29

Minimum - Maximum Pay Grade: AU-01

PRIMARY PURPOSE

To give assistance to handicapped children so they may take full advantage of the instructional and related programs of the District.

QUALIFICATIONS Education:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required
Special Knowledge/

Skills:

  • Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for the work to be performed
  • CPR & First Aid certified preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Monitor the safety of handicapped children
