Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a strategic and results‑driven Director of Business Development for our National Road Logistics team to expand market presence, strengthen customer relationships, and support business growth across Canada. This role focuses on developing value propositions, supporting sales initiatives, and ensuring seamless customer engagement.

How you create impact

• Develop and enhance value propositions for Road Logistics, including creating sales tools and marketing materials.

• Identify new target markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities within the Canadian road logistics sector.

• Collaborate with sales teams on customer engagement, pricing strategies, RFQs, and strategic account development.

• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with key accounts to drive business expansion.

• Lead customer retention efforts and ensure consistent, high‑quality customer experience.

• Oversee the annual GRI (General Rate Increase) process in alignment with business objectives.

• Ensure smooth customer transitions from sales to operations in accordance with service requirements.

• Maintain accurate and timely updates of activities within the CRM system.

• Prepare and deliver customer presentations, visits, negotiations, QBRs, and contract discussions.

What we would like you to bring

• 5+ years of experience in Canadian Road Logistics business development, with strong knowledge of operations, services, and the local markets.

• Strong sales, negotiation, and customer‑development skills with a proven track record of retention and growth.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at senior levels.

• Understanding of finance and P&L concepts (considered an asset).

• Demonstrated ability to serve as a role model and liaison between sales and business units.

Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement.

Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
