Responsibilities
  • Customer Needs:
    Conduct research and analysis to develop a profound understanding of customer needs, pain points, and potential opportunities.
  • Market Trends/ Vendor Landscape:
    Have expert knowledge of different vendor products, which are the leaders, and what they offer. Understand the key industry trends.
  • Ideation:
    Develop ideas/opportunities to improve the product through systematic client research, ideation workshops, etc.
  • Feature Evaluation & Prioritization:
    Evaluate and prioritize ideas – leveraging a scientific, data, and evidence-driven approach (e.g., simple experiments, low fidelity mockups).
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
    Conduct market research and analyze competitors to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Stakeholder and Customer Feedback:
    Gather and incorporate feedback to refine product ideas and priorities.
  • Feature Requirements:
    Work with end users, dev leads, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to define user journeys, mockup screen designs, and elaborate requirements so that the engineering team has the information needed to successfully implement.
  • Engineering Acceptance:
    Walk the engineering team through recent functional requirements (e.g., screen designs, workflows). Address questions and make clarifications/changes as needed. Engineering is empowered to reject any features where requirements are unclear.
  • Engineering Support:
    Be on hand to respond to developer queries as they arise (in standups, through Slack, etc.). Make sensible choices and validate assumptions.
  • Delivery Management:
    Ensure timely delivery of product milestones, coordinating efforts across teams.
  • Dependency Management:
    Manage dependencies with enterprise partnerships, such as Lumina, to ensure smooth integration and collaboration.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Conduct testing to confirm that completed work meets specifications.
  • User Validation:
    Test new features with clients. Did we hit the bullseye the first time (unlikely)? How might we improve?
  • Analytics:
    Monitor data to see how clients are using/adopting the new feature.
  • A/B Testing:
    Use A/B testing where possible to validate the impact of new features and compare them against baseline performance.
  • UAT Management:
    Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that features meet client expectations before release.
  • Cross‑Team

    Collaboration:

    Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and other teams to ensure alignment on product goals and execution.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to business stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buying.
  • Client Engagement:
    Regularly engage with clients to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure they feel heard and valued.
  • Automated Process Improvements:
    Identify opportunities to automate workflows and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Data Workflow Management:
    Ensure smooth and accurate data flow between systems, enabling seamless product functionality and client satisfaction.
  • UI/UX

    Collaboration:

    Partner with UX/UI designers to enhance the user interface, ensuring it is intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with client needs.
  • User Journey Optimization:
    Continuously refine user journeys to minimize friction and improve the overall product experience.
  • Process Optimization:
    Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
