About the Role:
About the Role
The IMAX Soundtrack Mastering facility receives, qualifies, processes and delivers soundtracks to internal post-production teams, external post-production facilities, film distributors, or directly to theatres. Turnaround times can be extremely short and accuracy is a must. Soundtracks must be delivered error free, to specification, and on schedule.
The purpose of the Audio Post-Production Specialist is to directly work on the soundtracks to ensure they meet IMAX’s quality standards.
What You'll Do:
Qualify printmaster in Pro Tools to ensure it is error-free and in sync with picture
Perform precise edits in Protools, formatting printmasters to exact specifications to meet soundtrack delivery requirements
Download soundtracks and other elements from mix studios via Faspex Aspera, FTP, etc.
Uploading soundtrack deliverables to post-production facilities or end-users as required
Create proprietary IMAX film soundtracks in a variety of formats
Organizing and archiving soundtrack printmasters
Assist with maintenance and upkeep of studio and equipment
Check e-mails frequently for new work orders, printmasters, etc.
Assist with scheduling as appropriate
What You'll Need:
Intermediate Pro Tools proficiency or better is a must
Experience with other post-production software (DaVinci Resolve, etc.) is a plus
Audio Engineering/Production College or University (or 1-2 years experience in audio postproduction environment)
Familiarity with audio-postproduction terminology is required
Experience working in multichannel audio formats (5.1, Atmos, etc.) is an asset
Familiarity with analog and digital tape formats is an asset
Ability to work in both Apple and Windows environments
Basic understanding of networking (mounting drives, connecting to servers, etc.)
Understanding of audio over IP (Dante) is a plus
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Extremely detail-oriented and a quality assurance and customer service mindset
Proficiency in problem-solving and troubleshooting audio problems
Professional communications in e-mail and on phone
Ability to work both independently and in a very small team environment
Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, and weekends is desired

$57,489.00 / 57.489,00$ - $71,860.00 / 71.860,00$ (per year / par an) Final pay within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and the geographic location of the role.
