Position overview:
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Finance & Operations Analyst to join a highly collaborative team supporting both accounting and finance functions, along with broader operational decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of month-end accounting responsibilities and FP&A/financial analysis work, while gaining exposure to business partnering, commercial support, and operational finance.
The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and cross‑functional teams to support accurate financial reporting, strengthen accounting processes, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision‑making that drives the company's continued growth.
Principal tasks and responsibilities include:
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and long-range planning activities
Prepare management reporting packages and provide analysis on financial performance, profitability, revenue, and operating expenses
Analyze results against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying key trends, variances, risks, and opportunities
Maintain and improve general ledger accuracy, supporting financial controls and compliance requirements
Partner with sales, operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to provide financial and operational insights that support decision‑making
Perform pricing, contract, rebate, and profitability analysis while supporting commercial initiatives and growth opportunities
Develop financial models and support business cases for strategic projects and investment decisions
Monitor inventory trends, demand forecasts, and operational performance metrics from a financial perspective
Support external audit requirements and assist with internal control documentation and process improvements
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, streamline accounting processes, and increase operational efficiency
Contribute to the development of dashboards, reporting tools, and business intelligence solutions
Participate in cross‑functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
Qualifications and prerequisites:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
CPA designation completed or in progress is considered an asset
3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, FP&A, financial analysis, operations finance, or related roles
Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Solid technical accounting knowledge and strong attention to detail
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial modeling capabilities
Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence platforms is considered an asset
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Proactive, hands‑on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to build strong working relationships across multiple departments
