Deputy CFO​/Chief Financial Officer

We are looking for an accomplished Deputy Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic and operational finance leadership for a wholesale distribution business in Brampton, Ontario. This Contract opportunity is ideal for a senior finance executive who can guide enterprise-wide reporting, strengthen financial performance, and support informed decision-making across a complex, inventory-driven environment. The successful candidate will bring a hands-on approach to leadership while helping the organization enhance controls, improve financial processes, and support ongoing business transformation.

This is a 6-mon contract with primarily onsite setting in Brampton, ON.

Responsibilities:

• Lead consolidated financial oversight across multiple business entities, ensuring accurate reporting and clear visibility into overall performance.

• Evaluate monthly financial results, forecasts, and management analysis, offering informed challenge and recommendations to strengthen decision-making.

• Prepare and deliver financial insights for key stakeholders and strategic partners, presenting complex information in a clear and practical manner.

• Direct financial governance related to inventory, including control processes, operational finance support, and performance monitoring in an inventory-intensive setting.

• Oversee costing practices and assess margins and profitability to improve commercial insight and support stronger pricing and cost management.

• Manage treasury activities, cash flow planning, banking relationships, and required financial compliance reporting.

• Provide financial leadership for funding-related matters, including lending arrangements, capital support activities, and other special financing needs.

• Drive focus on working capital, liquidity, and broader financial results while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and business performance.

• Mentor and support the finance leadership team, serving as a senior advisor on complex issues and helping elevate overall finance capability.

• Strengthen finance processes, internal controls, and systems within a largely manual environment, while contributing leadership through ongoing organizational change.
