About the Role:
ABOUT
The Global Payroll Administrator will support the full payroll cycle for approximately 600 employees across multiple regions, working closely with HR and Payroll Accounting to ensure pay, time tracking, and employee deductions are handled accurately and on schedule. You will maintain and troubleshoot payroll and time systems, assist employees and leaders with payroll‑related inquiries, review payroll‑linked financial entries, and oversee the setup and monitoring of benefit and retirement deductions.
You will also assist in refining existing procedures, support system updates and project work, and take part in audit activities to strengthen overall payroll operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform end-to-end, semi-monthly payroll processing in Workday, including data entry, payroll validation, wage garnishments, off cycle/manual checks, and maintenance of records.
Maintain Workday Time & Attendance and Payroll to ensure streamlined and accurate processing of time entry, vacation, overtime and leave processing specific to payroll operations.
Ensure payroll accounting is complete and accurate by reviewing Workday payroll journal entries and perform semi-monthly reconciliations of payroll related accounts; partner with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Provide support to employees and management regarding questions related to payroll transactions and provide payroll and/or labor related information upon request.
Set up, maintain, audit, and reconcile payroll deductions and remittances for benefits and retirement programs including Group Health Plans, Life Insurance, Disability Programs, RPP, RRSP and 401K.
Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned payroll and benefit processes and look for ways to improve existing processes and programs.
Support payroll-related change management initiatives, system enhancements, special projects, and new or modified payroll programs.
Participate in, and/or coordinate internal and external payroll audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
University degree (Finance/Accounting/Business Administration – preferable) and APA or CPA Certified, preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years’ of payroll administration experience for a mid-size global company.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll is essential; international payroll experience is considered an asset.
Experience with Workday or ADP Workforce Now is an Asset.
Strong payroll operations, analytical, and process improvement skills required.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
Must be comfortable working within tight deadlines and high-volume workloads, critical thinking, ability to navigate in the environment of uncertainty and ambiguity.
