POSITION:
Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

LOCATION:
Mississauga, ON (hybrid)

Mac Donald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.

Our client is a leading national distributor of recognizable brands and they are on the hunt for a new Human Resource Business Partner to join their Canadian HR team.

Reporting to the VP of HR, the primary responsibility of this role will be to partner with leaders and employees to execute the HR strategy, provide people management support, and ensure compliance while driving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

The client group this role supports is the Operations division with over 200 employees across Canada within multiple warehouses.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact for leaders, providing advice on talent management, employee and labour relations, performance management, and HR policies
  • Support dispute resolution processes, including investigations, grievance handling, and discussions with union representatives
  • Partner with leaders to assess workforce needs, support succession planning, and implement staffing projections
  • Manage recruitment processes including job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer letters
  • Support the development and execution of Health & Safety programs, ensuring legislative compliance across offices and warehouses
  • Collaborate on corporate culture initiatives, including employee engagement committees and wellness programs
  • Contribute to HR projects, special initiatives, and compliance reporting
  • Requirements:
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally as an HR business partner
  • University degree in business, HR, or a related field required
  • Recruitment experience
  • Strong background in employee and labour relations, including investigations and grievance resolution
  • Experience dealing with unionized employees is a must
  • Knowledge of employment law and provincial employment standards
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Comfortability traveling within Canada once per quarter.

    85-95K base salary
