In the role of Benefits Analyst you will:

  • Analyze benefits utilization, claims experience, cost drivers, and trends as well as prepare reporting and insights to support benefits strategy, renewals, and risk mitigation.
  • Support annual benefits renewals, plan design changes, US open enrollment activities, and compliance requirements, including distribution of notices, Form 5500 filings, and regulatory testing.
  • Support the delivery and administration of Canadian and International employee benefit plans, including Health, Dental, Disability, Life Insurance, AD&D, and Retirement Savings.
  • Engage with employees and internal partners on complex benefits inquiries, issues, enrollments, eligibility changes, and life events.
  • Participate in audits and process improvement initiatives to streamline, standardize, and improve benefits processes, enhance employee experience, and drive efficiencies.
  • Partner with the People Systems team on the Workday implementation and enhancements of the benefits module including but not limited to requirements gathering, troubleshooting, testing, validation, and issue resolution.
  • Review benefits-related materials (summaries, booklets, contracts, communications) to ensure accuracy and alignment with plan design and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, employment standards, collective bargaining agreements, and internal policies.
  • Is this the right role for you?

  • You have an undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or Human Resources, or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in administration and analytics of group benefits, retirement savings, and disability management programs.
  • You have experience working with HRIS (Workday strongly preferred).
  • You are strong in Excel and have superior analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • You possess a positive, solution-oriented, and customer-focused attitude.
  • You handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • You have strong attention to detail, with the ability to balance accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Experience with U.S. and union benefits and Retirement Savings programs is an asset.
