Overview

An established manufacturer of packaged and convenience food products in North America is looking to hire a Facilities Manager for its Mississauga facility. This role will involve overseeing the maintenance of high-speed processing and packaging lines, focusing on reliability and workforce stability.

The ideal candidate for this leadership role will work closely with a unionized maintenance team to improve performance while maintaining work-life balance. The work environment is team-oriented and designed for long-term success.

Responsibilities

· Lead a unionized maintenance team by setting expectations through daily engagement

· Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to enhance asset reliability and reduce downtime

· Manage labor coverage, schedules, and workforce planning for the maintenance group

· Develop technicians, reinforce safety and quality standards, and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship

· Collaborate with production and engineering teams on equipment upgrades and capital initiatives

· Provide support for complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as needed

· Drive continuous improvement through effective planning, documentation, and standard work practices

Requirements

· Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering

· Minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in food, packaged goods, or related manufacturing field

Experience with union maintenance is essential

· Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems

· Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable in a structured environment

· Comfortable working in fast-paced, production-driven settings

· Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
