The Branch Manager is the tactical anchor of the company, responsible for driving daily sales execution while ensuring strategic alignment of inventory and operations to meet monthly and annual budget targets.
This role focuses on internal efficiency, strong team leadership, and delivering local P&L success. The ideal candidate is both a hands-on leader and a strategic thinker who understands how sales, purchasing, and operations work together to drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Pillar 1:
Know Your Customer (Local Service & Demand Sensing):
Provide tactical direction to Account Managers (AM), Business Development Managers (BDM), and Regional/Relationship Wholesale Account Managers (RWAM) to ensure activity and quote targets are achieved
Analyze project pipelines to anticipate regional demand spikes in wire and cable
Resolve branch-level service and pricing discrepancies to ensure an exceptional customer experience
Support front-of-house service excellence and local market responsiveness
Pillar 2:
Know Your Business (Forecasting & Budget Success):
Own full branch P&L responsibility including revenue, margin, and expense management
Lead the branch’s sales and inventory forecasting process
Align stock profiles with sales budgets and upcoming project demand
Coordinate with Operations to ensure warehouse capacity and logistics align with forecasted sales
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and reduce freight costs
Synthesize field intelligence from the sales team and collaborate with Purchasing to refine pricing and cost structures
Pillar 3:
Culture, Values & Strategy (Internal Leadership):
Coach and develop the sales team to strengthen product expertise
Coordinate technical product training initiatives
Enforce company policies, attendance standards, and Corporate Quality Assurance guidelines
Lead weekly branch meetings to review sales performance, inventory health, and quality initiatives
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
5–7+ years of progressive experience in branch management, sales leadership, or distribution management
Proven experience managing a P&L with accountability for revenue, margin, and expenses
Background in electrical distribution, wire and cable, industrial distribution, or B2B wholesale strongly preferred
Experience leading and developing outside sales teams

Skills:
Strong coaching and performance management experience
Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and results
Experience leading cross-functional teams and branch operations
Ability to enforce policies and uphold corporate standards
Financial & Operational Acumen:
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and inventory management
Experience aligning inventory strategy with sales projections
Solid margin management and pricing strategy experience
Ability to analyze financial data and translate it into operational action
Sales & Customer Focus:
Deep understanding of B2B and project-based sales environments
Ability to analyze pipelines and anticipate demand shifts
Skilled in resolving customer service and pricing issues
