    Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles.     About the role

    We’relooking for a
    Unit Claims Manager,Auto/Property (ISU), to join our Claims Investigative Services Unitin our
    Mississauga/Ajax
    office!

    As a Unit Claims Manager, you will support in the development of claims adjusters in their handling of Auto and Property claims. You will be involved in understanding changes and delivering on the expectations within each center of excellence, while ensuring team productivity and engagement remain high. You will support in the ongoing development of our Investigative Services Unitwithin the Ontario region, collaborating with peers in both auto and property to support your team in delivering a second to none claims experience.

    What you'll do here:

  • Directs and coordinates the activities of the adjusters related to the processing of auto and property claimstoachieveobjectivesin terms of commitment, management of excess costs,efficiencyand customer service.

  • Contributes to the achievement of corporate and regionalobjectivesby measuring team performance, ensuring quality of claims handling, level of compliance with standards,proceduresand productivity.

  • Manage the activities of their team by organizing,planningand controlling theoptimaluse of human, financial and material resources according to the budget, while promoting teamwork and guiding their technical training.

  • Participate in the improvement of operational processes.

  • Make decisions for their teamregardingthe processing of claims and the payment of indemnitiesin accordance withcompany standards.

  • Review Investigation files and act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters and technical issues that may include investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation.

  • Demonstrate your analytical acumen, decision-making skills and develop structured action plans.

  • Provide leadership and manage the operations of the Unit to achieve key business goals. 

  • Work closely with the other Unit Claims Managers and employees in the Investigation Services Unitand Regular Markets toestablishtimelyinvestigative decisionsand act on Fraud Lead action plans.

  • Establish andmaintainproductive business relationships and effective communication with other units, including claims and distribution. 

  • Review the work and final products of your team; provide coaching, feedback and/or training asrequired.

  • What you bring to the table:

  • 1 + yearsin a management rolerequired.

  • Experience in auto and property claimshandling.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and mentor staff to achieve results and exceed targets.

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented, capable of working in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent communication skills anddemonstratedability to build collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of work

  • Willingness to enroll and complete Charted Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.

  • University Degree or any combination of training and experiencedeemedrelevant for the role.
