Business Development, Client Relationship Manager
- Identify and pursue business opportunities with current and new clients in assigned territory.
- Promote SGS’ image and service listings in a way which will further the company’s objectives.
- Participate and prepare sales goals each fiscal year and track the progress to ensure that the objectives are met.
- Create territory plan based on LSS business strategy.
- Create a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) strategic plan for Canada.
- Manage and coordinate sales activities into accounts designated as strategic accounts including supervision of contracts, direct sales, customer relations, vendor relations and related financial performance.
- Identify prospects, perform need analysis, identify opportunities and follow up to close.
- Visit new prospects and new customers to sell and support SGS Life Science Services small molecule and / or biopharmaceutical suite of services including CDMO Services.
- Accountable for meeting annually established sales and profitability targets within approved expense budgets and for assigned territories.
- Work with Client Services Team to prepare client quotes, service agreements, proposals, responses to RFS, RFP’s or tenders within set deadlines ensuring professional submission of all information as requested by clients and with proper collaboration of inside SGS sales support to ensure that project scope, schedules and budgets are accurately planned, monitored, communicated and met.
- Promote Canadian network and expertise to prospects and existing customers.
- Execute sales activities, including sales planning, visits, reports and results.
- Four-year degree in relevant field (e.g., Business, marketing, life science). Advance degree preferred MBA, MS)
- Over five years of business development experience in sales/marketing
- Business development experience with pharmaceutical and medical device companies and CDMO
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
- Professional, high standards in personal presentation
- Background in pharm / biopharma
- Ability to manage relationships under stress
- Ability to work and think independently and coordinate several activities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and able to achieve shared objectives
- Ability to achieve and carryout effective selling techniques
- Ability to maintain service-oriented mindset
- Travel to other SGS locations or client location may be required from time to time.
- English is mandatory
