Responsibilities
- Support the sales team by performing back‑end tasks, allowing salespeople to focus on selling and increasing sales ROI (gross margin/sales cost).
- Enter pricing quotations, request vendor price and delivery (P&D) quotations, and follow up on each quote.
- Administer the opening of new accounts and maintain existing customer‑account databases, including changes in contact information, billing and shipping addresses.
- Provide information updates and solve shipment problems for customers and manufacturers.
- Process Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and Reel Return paperwork and administer freight claims and reel returns.
- Run customer sales reports for the sales team.
- Track non‑stock items requested and share findings with sales team and purchasing.
- Track no‑charge (“penny”) reels and paid reels in accordance with branch policies.
- Perform over‑the‑counter sales if the branch supports it.
- Investigate dated orders and determine any required actions to finalize them.
- Look after the accounts of salespeople on vacation or holidays.
- Promote National Cable Specialists products and provide expertise to grow existing business.
- Handle every customer complaint promptly and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Schedule work and allocate resources to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
- Maintain communication between operations and sales regarding capacity challenges and service issues.
- Generate sales leads to be evaluated and pursued by frontline sales team.
- Act as a contact point between Corporate Marketing and the Sales Team, communicating needs and concerns.
- Distribute marketing materials to the sales team when required.
- Assist in coordinating promotional events.
- Perform any other duties as required by management.
- Grade
12 education or equivalent completed. - 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Interest and capability in performing sales duties and purchasing/inventory management functions.
- Good written and spoken knowledge of English and/or French.
- Strong motivation to develop and grow skills.
