Position Overview
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for the position of Environmental Monitor, supporting our EDI team, our Indigenous partnerships, and valued clients on various projects throughout western Canada and the Yukon.

- Developing and implementing Environmental Management Plans to support and guide compliance with permit conditions and project commitments.
- Conducting on‑site environmental inspections/audits, monitoring work activities in relation to environmental protection.
- Documenting the effectiveness of environmental protection measures and providing corrective action recommendations.
- On‑site data collection and management, preparing technical summary reports, and communicating with clients, regulators, and contractors, often in the field (construction sites).
- Depending on qualifications, providing guidance and support for on‑site mitigation including spill support and remediation, sediment and erosion control, water quality monitoring, site isolation, water diversion, fish and/or amphibian salvage, pre‑disturbance bird nesting and wildlife surveys, and reclamation activities.
- Experience supporting responsible project development through the balance of environmental protection, safety, and project requirements.
- Experience in environmental monitoring and implementation of best management practices and mitigation measures.
- Experience in site isolation, fish salvages, water diversion, and site dewatering (an asset).
- Excellent note‑taking and observational skills for site inspection and monitoring.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with clients, contractors, agencies, and co‑workers, including experience with technical writing.
- Self‑motivated and responsive, yet calm demeanor in a fast‑paced environment, with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Physically fit and able to work long days (10 to 12 hours) in the field in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel for field work to a variety of construction sites (e.g., mine sites, stream crossings, etc.) in remote locations and/or between offices.
- Environmental monitoring for construction.
- Diploma or
B.Sc. Degree in Renewable Resources or Natural Sciences or related discipline(s). - Class 5 Drivers Licence.
- Environmental consulting experience.
- Construction site erosion and sediment control.
- Water quality monitoring experience.
- Pre‑clearing surveys for bird nests and wildlife.
- Fish sampling/electrofishing certification.
- Registration or eligibility for registration (e.g., RPBio, RBTech, PAg, Pbiol, AScT).
