Position Summary:

The role of Medical Affairs intern includes supporting core Medical Affairs activities across scientific communications, medical education, evidence generation, congress planning, digital initiatives and cross-functional operations. This role provides hands‑on exposure to the life sciences sector. It offers opportunities to contribute to projects that support medical strategy, scientific exchange, compliant execution, and continuous improvement in the Canadian Medical Affairs team.

Key Responsibilities may include:
  • Support Medical Affairs and Medical Education projects, including planning, coordination, documentation, timelines and follow-up activities.
  • Assist with literature reviews, evidence gathering, medical intelligence and synthesis of scientific information to support internal decision‑making and project execution.
  • Support development, review and organization of scientific materials, medical education resources, presentations, trackers and project updates.
  • Assist with congress, advisory board and medical education logistics, including coordination of materials, agendas, partner communications and post‑event follow‑up.
  • Support evidence generation and field medical activities through project tracking, data organization, insight capture and preparation of concise summaries or reports.
  • Collaborate with Medical Directors, Medical Advisors, Medical Science Liaisons and cross‑functional partners, including Commercial, Market Access, Patient Advocacy, Regulatory, Compliance and other internal partners as appropriate.
  • Support digital and AI‑enabled Medical Affairs initiatives, including process improvement, insight capture, content localization, internal capability‑building and operational efficiency, in alignment with company policies.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, compliance requirements and applicable industry standards.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a degree or post‑graduate program in life sciences, pharmacy, health sciences, public health, biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Interest in Medical Affairs, rare diseases, pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry operations, scientific communications or evidence generation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize scientific and operational information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with collaboration, data visualization or AI‑enabled productivity tools is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, adapt to changing needs and collaborate effectively in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Professionalism, sound judgment and commitment to working in a compliant, ethical and patient‑focused manner.
