Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance and cleaning duties assigned.
- Operation and maintenance of all refrigeration systems in the plant and on the rooftop.
- Maintenance of all equipment in boiler and refrigeration rooms, and all refrigeration equipment in the facility.
- Maintain, monitor, and check all refrigeration equipment requirements to TSSA Standards.
- Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations.
- Interface with necessary contractual and inspection departments for corrective and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of safe management, operations, and maintenance through compliance.
- Improve plant efficiency by reporting operating conditions of equipment, determining operating window, and helping to develop and maintain a maintenance program.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns relating to the production department to ensure minimal loss in manufacturing.
- Work with other departments to ensure a productive team environment and continuous improvement of plant processes.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment by keeping plant and powerhouse in accordance with TSSA.
- Ensure all work performed complies with governing practices, codes, and regulations.
- Fulfill Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, and MSDS requirements.
- Hourly rate: $37.10.
- Valid Ontario Refrigeration B Certificate or higher, or 3rd Class Engineer.
- Ideally 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing food processing environment as a stationary engineer.
- Knowledge of fuel systems, water treatment, air compressors, and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to perform maintenance as required.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced processing environment.
- Self‑motivated with effective communication skills.
- Previous experience working with SOPs and GMPs is an asset.
- Mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills required.
- Initiative, excellent communication, and results‑oriented approach.
- Hourly wage: $37.01.
