As a skilled mechanic, the Technician IV self‑directs day‑to‑day maintenance priorities based on equipment condition and business need, balancing immediate repair demands against longer‑term reliability improvements, and makes independent technical decisions within the maintenance discipline. The role ensures equipment reliability and compliance with safety and quality standards in a regulated environment, and requires a strong technical background, hands‑on experience with industrial equipment, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Job Responsibilities Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Maintain, test, evaluate, and inspect critical equipment and systems to provide a safe and reliable facility infrastructure, including daily operational checks such as lubrication, inspection, cleaning, and functional testing
Conduct scheduled maintenance and predictive checks on production equipment, including but not limited to pumps, autoclaves, part washers, filling and capping machines, exhaust fans, Clean Utility systems, and HVAC systems
Determine maintenance priorities based on equipment history, condition monitoring, and production schedules; drive work order prioritization and scheduling of preventive and corrective tasks to optimize equipment uptime and operational efficiency
Troubleshooting, Repair & Reliability Monitor and respond to system failures, alarms, and abnormal site conditions by taking appropriate preventive and corrective actions; diagnose and repair mechanical and control system issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operation of the cGMP manufacturing facility
Apply internal procedures, industry standards, and manufacturer specifications to inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot production, measuring, and test equipment; resolve issues independently and elevate those falling outside established procedures
Inspect third‑party repairs and rebuilds for adherence to requirements and quality of work
Identify recurring failure modes and propose and implement improvements to equipment performance, reliability, and safety; lead or participate in projects to upgrade machinery or processes
Compliance, Documentation & Safety Document all maintenance, repair, preventive maintenance, and modification activities accurately in work orders and maintenance records, and complete work orders in accordance with cGMP and SOPs
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with cGMP, company policies, safety standards, and SOPs
Follow all safety protocols, perform risk assessments, and support initiatives to promote a safe working environment, including compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
Experience & Education
Minimum Qualifications Progressive and substantial hands‑on industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment
Demonstrated troubleshooting capability across the following systems:
Mechanical: pumps, motors, mechanical seals, pneumatic systems, HVAC and mechanical equipment, bearings, belts, couplings, and alignment;
