Mobile Trailer Technician Job Description

The Mobile Trailer Technician travels to customer locations to perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on trailers and related equipment. This role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and structural components, while maintaining accurate service records and consistently following health and safety standards.

• Travel to customer sites and company locations to perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on trailers and related equipment.
• Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify maintenance, repair, and safety compliance needs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubricating moving parts, replacing worn components, and adjusting brakes and suspension systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical trailer issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Repair or replace damaged or faulty trailer parts, including electrical systems, tires, brakes, lights, couplers, and axles.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and bodywork repairs on trailers as required.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and services completed in accordance with company standards.
• Represent the company in a professional manner while working at customer locations and company sites.
• Comply with, and actively promote, the company’s health and safety program by working in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

• Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or mobile trailer technician.
• Valid 310T or 310J technician certification.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills for trailer and bodywork repairs.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical maintenance and repair of trailers and related equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently and accurately.
• Experience working with trailer electrical systems, including lights and wiring.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing brake, suspension, tire, coupler, and axle components.
• Ability to use appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment for mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting trailers and documenting work performed.
• Commitment to following health and safety procedures and working safely in all environments.

• Experience as an automotive technician or automotive mechanic is an asset.
• Background in general maintenance and repair of vehicles or heavy equipment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with 310S certification is an advantage.
• Ability to perform fabrication and bodywork beyond basic repairs.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
• Organizational skills to manage mobile service calls and maintain accurate service records.
