Staff Accountant – Grants

The Staff Accountant – Grants monitors and audits financial records and transactions for restricted grant funds.

• Receives and maintains approved budgets for restricted grant awards; prepares journal entries and posts transactions to the general ledger.
• Prepares reimbursement requests and interim reports for expenditures required by grant agencies.
• Reviews and audits financial transactions posted to restricted grant revenue and expenditure accounts.
• Determines applicable indirect costs, prepares journal entries to charge indirect costs, and corrects errors.
• Posts transactions to the general ledger after approval by the Director of Accounting and Budgeting.
• Provides occasional monitoring and training of student employees on a project‑by‑project basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field and accounting experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Proficient with accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and recordkeeping.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
