Accounts Receivable Clerk
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for general management of student accounts and for all duties, paperwork and necessary documentation as required in carrying out responsibilities.
DutiesEssential Job Functions:
- Records student charges
- Prepares receipts to students and third-party payers
- Processes awards from Financial Aid office
- Calculates and disburses financial aid refunds
- Verifies accuracy of student account balances
- Reports delinquent accounts to the appropriate parties
- Mails account statements to students
- Posts receipts to computer daily
- Attends to Business Office window
- Manages e-books
- Maintains room deposit roster monthly, if applicable
- Checks up cash drawer and prepares deposits daily
- Assists in registration/orientation: calculates student fees, authorizes bookstore credits, etc.
- Authorizes and monitors payment plans
- Submits invoices and maintains other accounts receivable from tuition assistance, Vocational Rehab, WIOA, employers, industry, etc.
- Distributes work-study payment information
- Assists with transmittal of aid
- Performs general office duties, including answering account inquiries, operating office equipment
- And any other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use fingers, hands, reach with hands and arms; and communicate (talking and hearing). The employee is required to sit. The employee may occasionally be required to stand and lift and move up to twenty-five pounds.

Work Environment
The work environment described here is representative of what an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is usually moderate, and will include interaction with other employees, students, the public, telephones, computers, calculating equipment and other office equipment. An employee will primarily operate within an office environment but may occasionally step outside to attend meetings or perform specific job-related tasks.

Associate degree preferred
Skills:
5 years of relevant experience, preferred; 2 years of experience, required
Work Experience include required number of years documented experience in a comparable/related position
