Ford Mobile Automotive Service TechnicianJob Description
Lakeland Auto Mall is looking for a qualified individual for our mobile automotive technician position. The mobile technician is responsible for performing maintenance, minor vehicle repairs and recalls at a customer’s home or place of business.
This position includes guaranteed hours AND a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates!
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform minor repairs if authorized by customer
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
- Road-test vehicles to check work performed if needed
- Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order using the concern, cause and correction format
- Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
- Attend factory sponsored training classes
- Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous waste
- Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission and values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
- Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicals
- Must meet company's requirements for employment
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- General mechanical skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Professional appearance
- Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safely
- ASE certification (preferred)
- Exposure to inclement weather
- Ability to operate an automobile
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending
- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls, or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and or pulling of materials
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification or successful completion of pre-employment test
- Technical or trade school degree preferred
