CAMP CHILDCARE WORKER
Location:
Camp Hidden Lake, Lexington, Mississippi
Position Type:
Temporary Full-Time
Pay Rate: $450.00 per week
This position is responsible for:
Provides childcare services for the staff’s children, including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities, and specialized programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provides care to staff children throughout the day, ensuring they have partaken of meals and maintain proper personal hygiene habits.
- Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the childcare property.
- Assists in keeping DYS’s quarters neat and clean each day.
- Assists with putting staff children to bed, as needed.
- Aids in household duties, such as laundry.
- Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
- Sits with camper tables during meals and serves as a table monitor when needed.
- Keeps personal living quarters neat, clean, and ready for inspection.
- Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Director.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Some physical requirements of the Camp Childcare position include endurance, such as climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are essential for performing manipulative activities.
- Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program at the available facility.
- Operate in daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.
- Experience working with children preferred, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid Certified
