Location: Byhalia

We have an opportunity to fill a position on a construction project, in Byhalia, Mississippi, that would maybe last a year.

We would hire a person as full-time, permanent for this project and then for future projects.

This project requires OSHA 1926 experience, and being onsite.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring coordination of each individual work in the common areas. The person appointed must have experience and knowledge in the implementation of the construction process and must be familiar with safety hierarchy principles and the mitigations involved. The SSC appointed must be familiar with COMPANY governance and Project Safety Handbook to follow.
  • Prior to start: entry on site (SSC-C)
    • Ensure that project design is conducted with safety coordination and the documentation is continued in the construction phase.
    • Check if the Appendix 06 is aligned with the local legislative requirements & update if needed.
    • Update Site Specific Safety Plan including attachments and support PM regarding any issues towards contractor.
    • Assist on the prequalification process to cover COMPANY expectation on contractor/supplier safety performance.
    • Secure alignment of legislation and owner specific requirements in the kick-off meetings.
    • Support Site Manager/Project Manager/Design Manager/Part Project Manager to secure that all activities needed to fulfill the SSLP checklist is ordered, delivered, and in place before site opens.
    • Orientation/induction onboarding process and tool covering Site Specific Safety Plan requirements.
    • Check if the certificates for working match the local requirements.
    • Plan, prepare, and initiate required activities as per Site Specific Safety Plan.
  • Prior to start: working on site
    • Contractor/supplier & COMPANY employee safety induction training – legal and owner specific requirements (Supported by John Lee Harper + SAM SECOVA - software).
    • Secure that contractor/supplier management is fully aware of their line responsibility and duty to instruct own employees.
    • Ensure that a system is in place for all workers to report good catches.
    • Coordinate contractor site safe plans (CSSP) to mitigate hazardous situations in common areas.
  • Site setup
    • Participate actively and support SiM to organize the SSLP checklist requirements (e.g. meeting area for site personnel, fencing off, supplies, access to areas, etc.).
  • Daily requirements
    • Coordination between contractors/suppliers through coordination meetings and documenting changes to Site Specific Safety Plan, if any.
    • Ensure Hazardous work is planned and a Permit-To-Work is issued/validated.
    • Ensure toolbox meetings in general and for the respective contractors/suppliers, where relevant topics are addressed. These are done with available GT representation and all workers on site to participate, and to sign off their attendance.
    • Be present in the field to coordinate and manage activities and tasks in the common areas.
    • Fulfil the requirements of the Site Specific Safety Plan.
    • Ensure that the ROCKSHE reporting system is well communicated, embedded at project site, used properly and that data is collected.
  • Weekly requirements
    • Head the weekly SSCM (Site Specific Coordination Meeting) – all contractors/suppliers to participate.
    • Control and manage Work Permit Forms – ONLY coordination of work in common areas.
    • Arrange weekly site safety walks with perspective of the common areas – Owner, SM and PPM.
    • Secure that Site Specific Safety Plan is communicated and requirements fully embedded at site.
  • Monthly requirements
    • Prepare a monthly safety status report and share the report with Project Assistant.
