Qualifications- Teaching license (secondary 5-9)
- Understanding and commitment to urban education and communities
- Strong technological skills
- Strong communication skills with various audiences (parents/guardians, students, teachers, administrators)
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skill.
- Provide instruction to middle school students in an alternative setting.
- Supports student behavioral needs, as necessary.
- Keep principal informed of potential problems or unusual situations.
- Handle routine discipline referrals and refer serious situations to Principal.
- Contact parents as needed and participate in parent conferences.
- Communicate with Principal related to discipline referrals.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
- Model and maintain high ethical standards.
- Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate support for school, its goals, and objectives.
- Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to the position.
- Other duties as assigned.
