Admissions Counselor

Responsibilities

Admissions Counselor will be required to attend recruitment events on behalf of MVSU to encourage prospective students to apply and eventually enroll at the university; utilize phone, email, and mail to communicate with prospective students in a timely manner, providing superior student service; become familiar with working territory and demographics of cities/towns in that area to best reach the student population for Mississippi Valley State University;

reports on visit statistics, guest feedback and budgetary updates; collaborate with our growing alumni network to develop new student/professional networks, garner student referrals; utilize alumni’s at information sessions, outreaches, phoning etc.; and assist with other tasks related to office functions, including but not limited to servicing walk-ins, answering phones, applicant processing.

Bachelor’s degree in related field from and accredited institution; strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; experience with event coordination; preference will be given to candidates with a collegiate background.
