Currently, you'll begin by working one-on-one with a dedicated elementary school student, fostering their language development and confidence. As the interest in ASL grows, there is potential for this role to expand to a full-time position, providing long-term opportunities and a rewarding career path.

Key

Qualifications:

• Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or ASL instruction
• Experience teaching American Sign Language at the elementary level is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills, including fluency in ASL
• Ability to tailor lessons and strategies to individual student needs
• Dedication to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging ASL instruction to a single elementary student in alignment with educational best practices
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that support the student's language acquisition and academic growth
• Collaborate with school staff and families to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods as needed
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP or student support meetings
